Hi, I am looking for any opinions or advice on the area west of Chapel Hill ( off HWY 54 and Dodson Crossroad). I am interested in a house in that area but I am not sure about the surrounding area or what is going to happen to the land further out on HWY 54. It seems rather deserted right now and the area has variable housing ( trailers, nice homes etc. ) Any thoughts ? Would resale be OK ? Thank you !!!!

I'm having trouble placing where this is - I'm not familiar with Dodson Crossroad and can't find it on Google Maps.

I'm guessing the OP means Dodsons Crossroads, which runs into 54 near the Kraken and close to Fiesta Grill.

I think it's a good area. Quiet, country, but a quick trip into Carrboro or CH one way, and a quick trip to Saxapahaw the other way.

Oh, yes, there.

It is a very rural and rather remote area. Likely to stay that way for a while.

Resale would be limited, as there isn't a huge demand there (obviously).

OP, you might check on proximity to the stone quarry, and ask around about any possible nuisances.
But, with most of the properties on Dobson Crossroads being more than half a mile away, it may not be a concern.

Great, thanks for your input. I read at one time they were putting the garbage dump out that way. I think that is on hold right now and I think it was quite a way down HWY 54. Has anyone been to the Kracken ?

OWASA sprays treated sewage sludge effluent on fields they own between Orange Grove Rd. and Teer Road, but that is pretty distant from Dobson's Crossroads.
