Hey I know it sounds going overboard, but after having issues with 2 physicians in a row - I figured there was no such thing as too much information. When I did this research on my current doctor the Board of Elections also had their birth date so you could see their age (although you can get an idea from when they graduated from Medical School). You could also find out the age of their spouse - now that was interesting. But they no longer have birth date info on the website.

Does one choose a dentist that is close to where one lives or where one works?

Personally I couldn't care less what my doctor's political or religious beliefs are, or his age or much of anything else other than him being skilled and my insurance will cover most of his fees. The guy's personality plays into it a little but only because it could influence his suggested course of action (eg if he's arrogant, he might not consider that his initial analysis was wrong), but that aside, how good he is at diagnosis, treatment etc is about 99% of it for me. This is a doctor I need, not a date.

I always try for somewhere in between. That way I can make early morning appointments and stop on my way to work or late afternoon appointments and stop on my way home.

I was particularly looking for a dental practice that used ultrasonic cleaning. I Googled it and found Galligan Family Dentistry just off Forest Pine across from the new Harris Teeter.

Galligan Family Dentistry - Wakefield Family Dentist near Raleigh, Wake Forest, Youngsville, Rolesv.

I went for my first visit yesterday and really liked it. The office staff is very friendly and welcoming, and they really seem genuinely sincere in wanting to make your dental experience with them as pleasant as possible. You have to ask for the ultrasonic cleaning, as they only do it upon request, which I did when I made my appt.
