I can't read these maps. When is all this snow meant to come?
Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Models are still uncertain, but I think that's a 75% confidence model.
I wouldn't bet the house one it, but it's clear that a lot of moisture is headed our way tomorrow night and that schools will likely end up being closed thurs-fri if that moisture makes it to our counties.
That map is from NOAA's Weather Prediction Center (WPC). It actually shows that they predict a 75% of there being 11" or less of snow. So in reality they believe there is a 25% chance we'll receive 11" of snow. Their other map shows a 50% probability of 8" in Raleigh.

Thanks for the friendly explanation. I don't understand why some people have to be rude about it. The map was posted without any real explanation so I did the best I could based on the data shown.
I saw that map posted earlier, and thought it may have been an outlier. So, that would be a big NO on the outlier thing?
Added, I just read the subsequent explanations. Still... a lot of snow, yes?
