The forecast coming from the NOAA, derived for aviation use, is calling for snow thru 5 am then light freezing drizzle from 5am to 10 am. That is, of course, for RDU itself.
It's unfortunate it's not going to snow the entire time, it could really pile up if it did!
was that it for the snow? sleeting/rain in central Cary.
I want my 8 inches.
Lol no, keep in mind snow wasn't even supposed to start until 10. It was supposed to start as rain at 8 and transition to snow at 10.,..instead it started as snow/sleet/rain at 8 and has continued. Warm nose breaking down. We should be in for a good storm. Then again, the gradient is REALLY sharp. In Durham we haven't seen one sleet pellet or raindrop, pure snow since 830. Grass, cars and parking lot covered. Pouring snow right now.
I'm in Florida visiting family. It was 79 degrees as I left for dinner!
Was supposed to fly back to RDU tomorrow but was able to change my return to Friday without any penalty. Hopefully whatever snow/ice falls tonight will be dealt with by Friday afternoon to some extent.
It's going to be 84 degrees tomorrow. Yeah, tough times.

Same here in Morrisville near RTP. It's been snowing for at least an hour and it's sticking to everything.
