I have never even thought about the diversity at the church I attend. It has never crossed my mind. We are all simply people who attend church for the same reason. And we all get along and accept each other for who we are.....people.

I'm not sure why this topic should be questioned? Why would anyone attempt to build a church based on the assumption that there needs to X number of whites, blacks, and hispanics?

What's wrong with you?
You seem to be criticising something that you do not understand...

It is not an afterthought there..
Thats diverse? 7 of 10 pastors are white men. All 4 "Lay Elders" are white men. All 24 "ministry leaders" are white, and only 3 of those are female.

I don't think "diverse" means what you think it does.

The whole concept of racial diversity just for the sake of racial diversity is silly anyway.

To paraphrase your earlier comment...you seem to be promoting something you don't understand.

Why all the personal jabs in this thread? Calm down everyone. It was a simple question about diversity coming from someone who's used to an area where intentional diversity is more prevalent. All we have to do is say "you won't find it here" and move on.

Because thinking people have opinions and this forum is about the exchange of those opinions. Feel free to ignore them and move on.

If you had offered some reasoning as to why diversity is helpful to one's spiritual growth the reception might have been different.
