Has anyone gone on one of these hikes?
Apparently they are lead by or sponsored by members of the Eno River Association. They seem like interesting hikes and being new to the area, I'd like to meet new people.
I'm thinking about going on Sunday but I have no idea what I'm getting into.......
Anyone have an opinion on this??
Thanks!!

I haven't been on one in years, but I'm sure you will meet some nice folks. Also, you don't need to wait for a group hike to enjoy the several Eno state parks...you can go on your own. After all, this isn't wilderness hiking! I go by myself all the time. You certainly don't need hiking boots or walking sticks, although I see people with those things who've probably come from other more rugged areas of the country.

I just "discovered" a nice little suburban walk yesterday. I was driving down Holly Springs Rd, just prior to Penny, when I saw a trailhead off in the woods. I went back later with my dogs and found that the land was owned by the Triangle Land Conservancy and they had recently erected the marker. There is a series of trails running along Swift Creek. You can then go up over a ridge and down the other side and join in with the Birklands subdivision greenway right there at the golf course. I guess that I walked for about 45 minutes, so it's probably about 2.5 miles.
