I drove on Capital Boulevard the other day, and I HATE driving on that road. Wow. This isn't the first time driving on it, and it has always been horrendous, but oh my it really hit me that time. It was only 2 pm, too! Another spot I can't stand, the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Brier Creek Parkway. AHHHH! Anyway, any thoughts on the most painful roads/spots in the Triangle?

Agree on Capital since I live on it. What I hate is the way the road expands and contracts when lanes come and drop.
The worst is Falls of the Neuse. Rotten DOT cheap charlie expansion achieved by narrowing all lanes to add space. Very hazardous and constant power outages when utility poles right next to road are hit.

Right now, it's got to be I-40 from Downtown to US-1 South (or visa versa). The lanes are shifted for the construction (understandable), and it causes a methodical thump every half a second if you don't straddle just right. It's like Chinese water torture on meth. Ughhhhh
I vote for Chapel Hill road through Morrisville. The fact that the town didn't expand that road 10 years ago and will likely take another 10 before it gets around to it is just criminal.

Falls of Neuse definitely. I understand people saying Capital but personally I've drove that road so much in my life I'm immune to its pitfalls. I also know all the bat cave ways to get around there. The only part I'm not as familiar with is once you get around WF.
