I used to live in the apartments off of TW Alexander.
Traffic: Close to nothing. I don't know what the other posters are using as their benchmark, but I have found there to be negligible traffic. Yes, getting onto Glenwood from TW Alexandar can take more than one stoplight, but I'd be willing to take a bet that it does not take more than 2-3 minutes. Now, if you are going to use Glenwood avenue to get to some place during rush hour you are obviously going to hit traffic. But, why take Glenwood when you are literally on I-540?

Airplane noise: It was terrible at my apartment and I lived on the Walmart side.

Schools - I believe Brier Creek elementary is the closest school and it is a fine school.

Taxes are similar anywhere in the Triangle area depending on city.
HOA depends on what community, not location.
You may have to check on this. My previous apartment which was on the TW Alexandar side was zoned in Wake school district. This included the Townhomes on ACC Blvd. A little further up and you end up in Raleigh city but Durham school district.

Yes, I was generalizing, which is saying generally anything on TW Alexander or north of it is considered Durham.

For those having traffic issues getting out of the Walmart side, you can always take the back loop route down by ACC through the Wake Med campus then to TW alexander and come back up Glenwood Ave.
