My son is scheduled to take Latin next year at Apex High. It's an online course and doesn't show up in the standard list of electives, so we had to do some additional paperwork with the school. A few years ago my daughter took it as an online summer course.
And no, we didn't push either of them to take Latin; they decided to do it themselves.

You didn't ask about Chapel Hill, but I will throw it out there anyway for reference. Our middle school in Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools offers Latin.
Athens Drive (public) has Latin 1-4, I believe. Also St. David's in Raleigh (private) has Latin 1-5 and I believe all their classical languages instructors have Phd's in their field.
I'd be very surprised if public schools didn't still offer Latin!
And besides being the basis for Romance languages, it helps greatly when learning new English words (SAT Verbal....cough cough) and of course, if one is going to work in the field of Law.
I studied 6 languages in college and I WISH one of them had been Latin.
Both Durham Academy and Trinity School of Durham-Chapel Hill offer Latin.
