I love to hear people's experience renting at Springfield Apartments located off University Drive in Durham. From what I see, their units are priced decently for the living area and facilities, has convenient bus and highway access, and is located close (enough) to Durham, RTP, and Chapel Hill. They even have decent reviews on apartment-rating sites.
All in all these apartments look good on paper, but I love to hear from fellow members about their experience. Hopefully there are a few members with some information to share.
Note that the map that is embedded in the link that you posted is wrong. That map shows these apartments being north of MLK, when in fact they are south of MLK.
I don't have experience with those apartments, but I can confirm that the location is great for public transportation. The bus stop right at the entrance services the DATA 10/10a (New Hope Commons to Durham Station) and the TTA 400 (UNC Hospitals in CH to Durham Station).

Thanks for confirming proximity to bus. Yes, Springfield is south of MLK and west of University Dr: http://goo.gl/maps/hvSCU
Had friends that lived there 15-20 years ago. Back then, lots of Duke professional/grad students and postdocs. Nice apartments, great pool.
Can't say how it has changed over the years. There's lots of new and more expensive options close to Duke now, and many med students and residents are choosing to live in walking distance to campus. But if it is still getting decent reviews perhaps they've done a decent job keeping it up.
From the reviews, I gather they had poor management at some point and that management changed (not sure how) in 2014. Unfortunately, there are few reviews since 2014, making it hard to assess quality.
Also, the management response to most reviews is very generic, something along the lines of "come see us at the office."
