My dog loves to run and get silly, but unfortunately I live in an apartment so she doesn't get a chance to. And she gets a little intimidated going to the dog parks where there are so many dogs.

Does anyone know of ball field that is fenced in where I could take her off leash to run a bit? I'm new to the area and didn't know if high schools would take too kindly to our borrowing their fields. We are in the Cary/Morrisville area. Thank You in advance

most public schools will have No Trespassing signs posted on their ball fields. Most that I have seen where they don't have the gates/fences locked, it hasn't stopped folks from doing what you want to do.

Thanks Bo......I think I'll just have to find one close to home and give it a try. Definitely go during off-peak hours...whenever those are.

Thanks...but I actually bought her a pass to the park, but she won't get out of the car......too much commotion with the skate park behind her. I need a large fenced area with no one around.

Many apartment complexes are now offering dog parks. I used to take my dog to a few when we rented nearby and we were usually the only ones there during the work day. I recently got kicked off of a baseball field for having my dog on leash at my side while my toddler was running the bases.

If you find such a place please be sure to pick up after her when she poops.

Oh yeah definitely.....I always pick up after her. That's a pet peeve of mine to see messes all around.....like one foot away from the doggy disposal bin that comes complete with the bags. It's so unfair of dog owners to do that to others.

With the leash laws, I'd suggest staying away from schools. We have utilized the dog parks at apartment complexes a few times - until residents recognized we didn't live there and 'suggested' we leave.

I don't know how old your dog is, but if he/she is youngish, perhaps consider some training to acclimate him/her to other dogs so you can both enjoy a romp at a proper dog park?

Thank you for the suggestion. I hired a trainer when I first got her. She has multiple fear issues and I was told although she'll make some progress here and there, she probably will never be a happy go lucky dog. However, she is when she's at home. And she wouldn't hurt a flea. But if you bring into a heavily populated area with a lot of commotion, she wants to run away and cower somewhere. I will probably just look around to find a city park somewhere. Thanks again
