Hello,

My family (husband and a 6 year old girl) will be moving to North Raleigh at the beginning of June and are looking for a nice family swim club to join. Could you provide us some information on nice clubs in north Raleigh?

Thank you!

North Raleigh Swim Club and Falls River Swim Club are both very nice and family friendly. Falls River probably being the nicer of the two but NRSC is still nice as well.

Also the new Lifetime Fitness has an awesome pool.
It might be cheaper to join it and knock out both a gym membership and swim membership in one payment.

Greystone and Seven Oaks also allow memberships outside of neighborhood residents.

YMCA on Baileywick has a pool but they seem to always be so crowded.

"North Raleigh" covers a large geographic area. There are many options. Major road you'll be closest to for beginners would be of assistance.

Agreed; probably 75% of Raleigh's real estate could be considered "north Raleigh" (north of 440).

Yes, but for purposes of driving to a swim club, almost any part of the area you refer to is easily accessible to any other part of the area, unless you're necessarily fighting rush hour traffic (probably not for recreational activities). The OP didn't mention the need to walk or bike to the pool. I think being more specific about which area of N. Raleigh makes sense when talking about looking for homes, work commutes, etc. but for most folks with a car adding another 3-5 minutes to go to one area versus another isn't going to matter much.

Also it seems that many folks are starting to refer to the area near 440 as midtown these days.
