As regular readers of this forum already know, I've eaten a lot of ethnic food. But one that I've somehow missed is the Chinese soup dumplings aka xiao long bao. I always planned on hitting Captain J's to try them. Alas, now Captain J's has changed it's menu and no longer makes them.
I'm not a big food truck fan (sorry, I just simply prefer sitting down in a restaurant to eat - in the old days, when food trucks were good to great food at CHEAP prices, I loved them. But now. . .)
So - anybody know another source for these dumplings instead of Chirba-Chirba? I might even be willing to do a road trip to get them.
Yeah, I did that. But it's pretty out of date and probably inaccurate. Captain J's is number one of the list. And I don't think Taipai 101 still offers them (at least, they aren't on the menu as of 2 months ago). I've never seen them at Li Mings, though I've never specifically looked.

If im not mistaken isn't that the restaurant that has 2 menus. The authentic and American version. I always read good reviews about the dumplings on here and wouldn't think they would stop selling with as much hoopla about them. Like 2 restaurants in one.
I don't think steamed buns are the same as soup dumplings......
