I kinda edited and noted that you were RIGHT and admitted they changed their tune. I know for FACT that they were advertising "tip is included" because it was a huge subject of discussion among drivers. I was not wrong about that.
I'm not sure why you've singled me out in this thread. We have difference of opinion, but I thought that's what forums were for, to discuss and explore those differences and to either find common ground, or to grow by understanding the differences. I know I've learned a lot on this forum by debating, and my views have been changed many times on many issues. I think the problem with our society in general is that people think that there has to be a winner and loser in everything, even a discussion. ["Who won the discussion?" <--Really? How rediculous does that sound?] Why can't two people with opposing views both be right, and both sway a little toward a greater understanding.
yes, I admit I'm wrong OFTEN. Online (all the time) and also in my personal relations. I have a lot of strong opinions, and as such, I put my foot in my mouth more often than your average person. To me, it's not a bad thing, and many people here know that I often apologize for the stupid things I say. In this case, I'm offering an opposing view, neither is right or wrong, I'm just trying to back up my perspective (and getting a lot of flack from you about it).
To the other question:
Yes, I 'would' tip food delivery (100% of the time), however I (almost) never order delivery, mostly because I'm close to everything and can pick it up, but also because I don't want to wait an hour to get it, and have it be cold. (and a little bit because I'm cheap, and don't want to pay the tip). But I absolutely do/would tip them if used, every time. I tip servers, even at buffets and usually at counter service, and always tip my Uber Driver even if Uber doesn't want me to.
About the hotel, I respectfully disagree: I stay at Hampton Inn's usually. Arrive at night, lay in a bed, and leave before dawn. I haven't ever shot porn in a hotel room, but if I did, maybe I'd leave a $20-spot behind? You and I are almost otherwise on the same page. I just don't see it the same way with hotels. Maybe because I don't see it at all. Maybe I'm wrong? I'll think about that.
Things I do tip:
restaurant (always)
Bus driver at airport shuttle who handles my bags (or doesn't)
Hotel Bell Hop (although I usually carry my own bags)
Uber/Taxi
In general, someone who goes above and beyond.
Everyone who I understand to be working for tips (below Min Wage)
(I'm bald, so I haven't had a haircut in 20+ years, but I would)
Baristas
Bartenders
etc...
