I've had the $20 TWC package for about 10 years now. Nothing fancy I just plug the coaxial cable right into the back of the flatcreen LG TV. This has worked fine for me for 10 years. No problems when the networks "switched to digital". I get a great HD picture for ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and PBS.Starting a month or two ago stations started dropping like flies from my TV. I still have the major networks, but PBS is gone, TBS is gone, FX is gone, and now USA is about to get the boot. Leaving me with the "you need a digital adapter to view this station" announcement.
My question is why do I suddenly need a digital adapter to view these station when I don't have some old fashioned TV and I didn't need a digital adapter when the major netoworks went digital? My tv is fine displaying the digital HD signals from the major networks. What is the deal?
Can somebody explain to me how my tv is incapbale of handling these "new" digital stations from TWC?

Thanks!
We're in the same boat. Pretty cranky about it.
Can we purchase a converter from someplace like Best buy and bypass TWC?
Don't forget future revenue source. I believe the digital boxes are "free" for right now, but that is likely temporary. I can see a $3 charge per TV suddenly appearing on your TWC bill in the not-too-distant future.

I thought there already was a fee.
$1.99 or $2.99.
Free until June 30th 2016 - think I've seen $3.95/mo each after that:

Had to get three myself, my beef is the controller I am forced to use is a POS!! My intelligent controller that came with the TV no longer works due to the box being hooked up and I am forced to use a piece of junk controller.
