Just last week, AT&T Uverse installed fiber cable on the street in front of my house. They left a notice on my door to say that they were installing fiber and that a landscaping crew would come and repair the damage that was done to my lawn. Zip code is 27707.
FYI, they came last weekend and marked out a ton of markings on the street in my neighborhood and several around it off Morrisville Carpenter Rd, then last week the utility locators did their thing. We were gone over the last few days but when we came back last night, we had a door tag saying the construction was starting soon. I know they are about done in Kitts Creek and working now in Breckenridge, but it's still pretty cool. Hopefully they don't go too ape on my yard though.
Not a peep around my neighborhood yet north of 540 off 401. I hope with 5401 project going in that they will bring fiber there and keep going north to us.
Anyone in or around Massey Preserve see anything going on with Google Fiber? I know there's a fiber hut going in at 6900 Perry Creek Road which is just northwest of us (just north of the 540 and east of the 401) but was wondering if the Neuse River (which is west of us) may be playing as an unofficial boundary.
An AT&T GigaPower installer said that Google Fiber will not be installed anywhere GigaPower already exists. He said that's why AT&T has been so aggressive.
Completely untrue and they are being far from aggressive in installing GigaPower. We have the system that is supposed to be one of their main targets and they are not working here at all, but further east in Cary.
More like the only reason we even have any Gigapower installs is because Google fiber is coming here.

I hope that's not the case. Our development is just north of the Neuse just on the other side of Ligon Mill off of 401. We have been screwed over by AT&T refusing to upgrade the BellSouth equipment in our development so we can get Uverse, so there is zero chance of getting them to give us GigaPower. I guess it would only be fitting for Google to do the same and leave us orphaned.
I hope TWC is not the best we will ever see.
