Does anyone know if someone at NCSU or Wake Tech (thinking students) does logo development inexpensively or even free for the experience?

I volunteer with a local non-profit who needs a new logo developed to go with our spiffed up web site. We can't afford to pay a designer a lot of $$ to design a new logo, so just exploring other options. We could probably offer a small stipend, but it would be really, well...small.

Thanks!

I second Bo's suggestion. Please don't say this to a designer (or any creative) "or even free for the experience". They need to eat too.

I know a guy who does a ton of stuff like this to add to his portfolio. If "small stipend" means "less than a hundred bucks," and you want him to spend hours reworking it, he's probably beyond your ability to pay, but if you want something quick and simple, it would be better than getting it from a hobbyist.

Yeah... it's really best to offer this sort of thing to a university to see if a student wants to do it for the experience, because sometimes, the really new ones would like such an opportunity.

Offering it to someone who is already working, even to an advanced student, and saying that might well be offensive.

If you work for a non-profit I'd suggest posting it on Catchafire. They network with design professionals who want to do pro-bono work for good causes. https://www.catchafire.org/project_menu/
