I just saw some at Whole Foods Chapel Hill -but they are not solid green and I'm suspicious? They have red in them too? I bought them anyway.

They get hotter as they ripen. So, if these WERE medium Hatch chiles, expect them to be on the upper end of that spectrum. If tgey were hot hatch chiles, hold on to your boots!

FYI: Don't know if anyone is interested, but I thought of this thread today. I was in Trader Joe's and saw frozen roasted hatch chiles. It said it was a new item. It's next to the frozen veggies.

I saw them at the Chapel Hill Trader Joe's so you might want to check if the other TJ's have them, if you're going to a different store.

Those cannot be Hatch chile's. They aren't in season until next summer.

My guess is that they are Anaheim or Poblano (I love them both) or maybe Cascabel (not one of my favorites).

The Hatch Chilies at Trader Joes are frozen pulp. Not fresh roasted.

No, they are frozen roasted hatch chiles in the frozen vegetables section.

I did not buy them - just read the label which said "roasted hatch chilies." I'll take a photo next time so those interested can see what they look like.
