I looked at Uber's website and it says that they aren't allowed at RDU. But, I've heard that if you take Uber from your home to RDU, and you ride in the front seat, pretend it is your friend taking you to the airport, you'll be fine.

So, my question is...what would a typical cost of taking Uber from North Raleigh (Strickland Road/Creedmoor area)?

What would a typical taxi charge?

I do NOT want to get up at the crack of dawn to take hubby to the airport!!!

You won't get fined, only the driver will.

Punch in your destination and Uber will quote you a price. A taxi is most like 3x that amount.

Your biggest issue will be having an Uber driver in your area that early in the AM.

Probably less than $15 for Uber.

We recently took Uber to the airport from your area (near Strickland/Creedmoor). We took Uber XL to the airport (newbies, thought we needed a larger car for family of four and our luggage) and paid $28. On the way home, we took Uber X and paid $15. I had also heard that the driver could get fined, but our driver had an RDU license/sticker (not sure if that's the official term) posted on his windshield. He said they had to have that to take/pick up at RDU, and we didn't have to hide anything, sit in the front, or pretend we were family. Worked out great, speedy pick up, and we didn't have to pay to leave our car at the airport all week.

Uber is all over RDU. As they should be. Fight the BS, let the consumer decide. My only complaint is we don't have black here yet. That will change the game.

$15 for X sounds right.

Some Uber cars have a special sticker that allow them to pick up customers at RDU. At Terminal 2, they'll pick you up at the Prearranged Services/17/Purple Zone on the lower level. They'll drop you off at either terminal, just like any taxi or a friend dropping you off would.
