I'm so excited I just have to share my joy!

My hubby and I currently live in Sanford and commute to RTP/Morrisville for work. 45-60 minutes every morning and evening. Ughh, commuting is NOT for us! So after months of searching on the internet and saving for a down payment, we finally started looking last week.

We've been eyeing Woodcroft for awhile because of how beautiful and quiet it is. Well after looking in Morrisville and Durham, we fell in love with a townhouse off of Highgate (I think it's in Homeplace IV) and went under contract today!!!!! Closing can't come quick enough!

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this board for their advice and different viewpoints. You guys definitely helped bunches!

Thanks everyone! Like I said before, your advice and commentary has made such a difference in every aspect of our house search. We truly feel blessed to live in such a wonderful area.

A special thanks to you Mrs. Steel! You're comments on Woodcroft and your pictures really helped us in our search for the perfect neighborhood. Hopefully the quiet atmosphere and beautiful surroundings of Woodcroft will make the transition from the boonies to the big city less painful!

I'm so glad I could help!

I grew up out in the boonies, so I understand where you're coming from. I love the quiet of that old neighborhood and being surrounded by nature, but I hated how far we had to drive to get to anything (the closest grocery store was 6 miles away). From my point of view, living here offers me the best of both worlds: the quiet of living further out, and tons of convenient shipping within 2 miles of home. It's a great location. I hope the two of you enjoy it!

We're looking at Woodcroft as well. Seems like an ideal mix of convenience and quiet living with lots of trees.

Is Woodcroft a diverse neighborhood? That's a priority, as we prefer places that aren't all white, or black, or whatever?

Well, I don't know the numbers, but it seems pretty diverse to me just from looking around. I would not be surprised if, say, 60% of the people here are white, but I don't know of any way to confirm that. The good news is that it certainly doesn't feel like it's 90% white & 10% "other". We have a variety of colors and nationalities on my street. If you look at the people using the walking trails, you'll certainly see a lot of diversity. That's the only info I have to go by.

MrsSteel,

I've seen your photos of Woodcroft and I must say, they look fantastic. I'm in Miami so needless to say, there's nothing like that down here, unless you can swing 750k plus! We're looking to move to the Triangle area and Woodcroft looks like a ideal place, as we have a daughter who is 5. Hopefully things will workout and we;ll be able to make they move. My folks live in Raleigh proper.
