I was looking into it the other day and I swear it said it was available. Now when I go to sign up, it only gives me options for normal cable TV.

Anyone use Choice in the area?

Youtube TV, Sling TV ,Playstation Vue might be better options depending on your needs

I had a fight with Sling after my kid ordered 75 dollars in kids shows in 1 hour, and refuse to go back

All the others are more than I want to spend - would make more sense to just get regular cable TV through Spectrum.

FYI for anyone viewing this in the future - you have to call Spectrum if you want to sign up for Choice. If you ever want to change your 10 channels, you have to call them to make the change. You can't do anything online, which is a deal breaker for me.

FYI with Sling I use a virtual credit card number and limit it to my two month subscription purchase price so no additional fees can be added.

Example the now current price is $25/month + tax IIRC. So I set up a virtual card for around $60 and process the transaction. You can then go back and cancel the card or just let the $5 on it expire (I set a two month expiration time frame).

This also lets me receive a new Roku Express every two months when I sign up again which I resell on eBay for around $22 after fees and shipping, lowering my Sling cost by $11/month.

Good tips. I may be forced to go back to Sling. Their customer service is pretty bad, but hopefully I'll never have to deal with them again.

Ultimately it was my fault for not putting a PIN on the account, but they really gave me a hard time about any refund. Was on the phone for close to 2 hours.

I had an issue with HBO and they advertised a free month. It wouldn't let me do it without upping my CC limit which I felt odd because normally you can add with just $1 on the available limit. So I upped my limit and it charged me the full amount ($15). I called and complained and eventually was given a refund but it did take a bit. I apparently had already used my free month a year or two ago but they didn't mention that on my "free month" screen. Total BS and bait and switch (I had no recollection of using it).

I view Sling customer service like I do my prepaid phone service. I have rarely had to contact them except on initial startup and while it was really bad, frustrating really, the money saved compounds every month afterward. I did switch to newer phones and used the online chat which worked without a hitch last year.

These services are best used with the idea of never contacting CS with issues. Eyes wide open kinda thing.
