How is gang activity/illegal immigrants in the durham/raleigh area?

I searched Durham on youtube and there were a bunch of videos posted by 'thug life' gang type people acting dumb.

I also heard north carolina does nothing about illegals?

Durham,s got plenty of gangs and plenty of illegals. NC has a pretty large Hispanic population due to the construction and ag industries.

Isn't every place feeling the impact of illegal immigrants?

As far as gangs are concerned...I think the term is used loosely. I don't think the gangs here are akin to the ones in larger cities. However, I think there may be more activity than in smaller areas.

Maybe if you could tell us where you live now someone could help put it in perspective?

yup.. that's all that's here. Gang bangers and illegals. Forget all that information available that says the triangle has one of the most educated, talented work forces and a good local economy with many job opportunities and low unemployment.

Lots of illegals and some gang activity in North Raleigh where I live.

PD does a good job but it's not just in Durham.

Those videos on YouTube are ridiculous and DO NOT represent life for a large majoriy of the people who live in Durham.

There are a lot of illegal immigrants here but I've only seen evidence of gangs (graffiti) while passing a bad neighborhood.

Is it possible to link to these videos? I searched youtube with 'Durham' and 'thug life', 'thug life', and just 'Durham' and couldn't find this user.

Way to take pride in the community here! I am pretty sure that youtube is not the place to use as a reliable resource for anything other than a blatant waste of minutes of your life
