Hello. I have about $1500 to host a work event for my staff, which is about 10 people. The event will take place after 5pm towards the end of Oct. Looking to stay in the Triangke area...

In the past we have done things like:

-Duke Football Game

-Durham Bulls Game

-King Bowling in North Hills

-Hibachi

*unfortunetly there is zero sporting events on Oct 28th

So I'm looking for something fun and local. Feel free to post ideas!!

Thanks

1. Obtain keg
2. Go out to parking lot or grassed area
3. Bring some games such as Cornhole
4. Give your employees $140 cash

This is actually a terrific idea, with a slight modification.

1. Obtain keg
2. Go out to parking lot or grassed area
3. Smoke a pig
4. Bring games and music
5. Give your employees $100

Seriously consider booking a private "cooking event". Sur La Table in North Hills has GREAT cooking classes! You work as a group preparing the gourmet meal and then sit down to enjoy it afterwards. It boosts teamwork and spirit!

Find a Cooking Class at Sur La Table

Also, Southern Season in Chapel Hill and Capris Flavors in Morrisville have classes as well.

What's the gender breakdown of the group?

The women might enjoy something like one of those wine & painting classes (Wine & Design, Cheers & Paint, etc.). Guys grouse about it at first, then wind up enjoying it a lot more than they thought they would.

Too bad it has to be after 5:00pm. Our group did the Segway tour of Raleigh and then hit Boku for lunch afterwards. Of all the events we've done (1 per quarter) this was by far a team favorite.

If it were me, I'd much rather have the money and the option NOT to attend. I used to see my coworkers much more than my family and the last thing I wanted was having to socialize with them even more after work hours, cutting into my valuable and limited family time.

I loathe sports, so nothing could be a worse punishment than an after-hours work sporting event! I would be so frustrated the whole time and sending out all kinds of bad karma, lol. Of the ideas presented so far, if I personally had to pick I'd go for the keg party. At least alcohol would help! But that wouldn't be fun for those who don't drink.

I've heard about Escape Room as mentioned above - that sounds interesting and might keep everyone entertained and engaged.
