My fiancé and I are looking to move to Westfall which is a newer community just west of Jordan Lake. We currently live near downtown Raleigh so we are aware that this may be a change of pace and we are ok with that. We love the outdoors and would enjoy mountain biking kayaking, disc golf.. Etc.

The address is conscidered Chapel Hill but we will be in Chatham county. We have feedback from others about the wastewater system which is maintained by Aqua. My take on all of this is that just because something is different doesn't mean it's wrong. If you live out this way I would love to hear your feedback about the area and specifically how the waste water is handled, who maintains it and who is responsible for any issues with the system?

The area seems to be growing overall, we love the Farrington village area, Briar Chapel and Jordan lake. We like that it's less congested but also closer to my fiancé's work and about 15 minutes from downtown chapel hill.

We've lived out here for 2.5 years and I can tell you the congestion has increased in the last year. Look at all the neighborhoods that have come or are coming out this way. This hidden gem isn't so hidden anymore. Wife works in Raleigh and has said it has gotten worse in the am. We are all on septic tanks out this way and you are responsible for them if there are any issues. Good luck!

any plans for a Target or Trader Joe's out in this area? I heard rumors but they are unsubstantiated.

None that I have even heard rumors of. I'd say that might be wishful thinking. I'm sure Trader Joe's would put a store in Durham before they'd put one way out there.

We have aqua and haven't had any problems as our house had a filtration system. However, there is a facebook page called "Aqua Concerns of Wake County" that has folks with numerous issues. The main issue seems to be prolonged instances of brown water, there is 1 person that posted their entire bathtub full of brown water. It seems like aqua is unresponsive when it comes to complaints as well.

Luckily we will be on Chatham county water and only using Aqua for wastewater. There are pump stations in a couple areas of the neighborhood.

Congestion? I guess it's all relative to what you're used to. We are moving from downtown Raleigh. My fiancé commutes to downtown Durham and it's easily an hour drive home or more each day.

There's about 3000 people currently commuting from Chatham to Durham and another 5000 going to Orange. Thats going to go up 8-10 fold, and they are all going to be on 15-501 and 64. I think the congestion is going to be every bit as bad as durham-raleigh, if not worse.

Hello! Just curious if you made the move to Westfall? We are looking at building in Westfall Estates. Beautiful area but more concerned about the neighborhood and its viability. Will it make it? We are moving from The Preserve. Thanks!

Any current Westfall residents care to comment on how they like it out here?
Thanks
