We live in five points, and can't seem to find a reliable lawn guy. What is it with these guys? They don't show up? Not even for first visits! Or for third or fourth--it's just random. And we're paying well. And it's not a huge yard. But it's not small either. And we're friendly. I don't understand it!

Why can't we find a yard guy?!

Places we have experience with:

http://www.lawnandordernc.com

more affordable, prompt, attentive, but will be an issue if you are looking for organic lawn care. they do use glyphosate (roundup) and non-organic fertilizers.

We eventually switched to:

http://www.pleasantgreengrass.com

more expensive, but great to work with, communicative, full solutions for beds, hardscapes, rainwater collection and more. they offer an all-organic option to lawn renovation (currently undergoing), beds, seeding, and fertilizing (they make their own compost tea).

best of luck, if you're just looking for mowing, edging, blowing...lawn and order is a solid choice.

Thank you. I'll look into Lawn And Order. That's a hilarious name. I like to avoid Roundup, so as not to kill bees and migrating butterflies, etc, but I'm not super-envirnomentalist-homemaker, either.

I'll look into Pleasant Green Grass too.

I've been using Frank Black from Landscapes Unlimited for 2, going on 3 years after admiring other yards in the neighborhood that used him (I'm in Budleigh). He re-sodded our lawn and made our yard look great, both lawn and landscaping. He is a really really great guy - honest, straightforward, reliable and easily accessible. He's a volunteer firefighter as well. Highly recommend him!

No webpage but he will respond promptly:
