Does anyone know what they are building on Highway 70 in Durham between Lynn Road and North Miami Blvd. exit or the Highway 98 exit, right before Cheek Road. There's a bit of construction going on for a few weeks (maybe months) in that area. They've cleared a large patch of land, but no signs tell us what's being built there. Any ideas?

East End connector, future I-885, should be completed in January 2020.

And for people in west Wake or south Wake who complain about tolls on NC 540, the East End Connector is another example of a non-tolled road that residents have waited 25 years for.

More like 40+ I think. I mean, they built 147 in such a way to account for it because the plan was to have the Connector done not that long after I think.
