If they are remotely similar to the locations in Brier Creek or Florida, I'll pass. (And no, I'm not a steak snob, I'll go to Lone Star Steakhouse quite happily.)

I disagree. As far as chains go, in my opinion Longhorn can't be beat. They're actually under the same parent company as Capital Grille (then again, so is Olive Garden). Not that that really means anything anyway, but I've always been happy with steaks at Longhorn.

That being said, a Longhorn is a Longhorn is a Longhorn. As far as reviews go, I can't imagine it would be different than any other location.

Never been to a Lonestar. Will have to try it.

Sorry - I should have been more clear.

It's not the quality of the food at Longhorn that we dislike. The steaks are pretty good, though the salads need improvement. It's the service - which stinks. AND the wine prices are simply outrageous.

I don't think they are open yet. I live close by and haven't seen the signs go up yet. The new location is beautiful though, fits in nicely with the Cabelas theme. Much cooler looking building then the one I worked in years ago. I always liked their salads, still make their house dressing to this day(green olive, mustard vinaigrette). The Carolina Ale House is open and 5 Guys and City BBQ.

I've worked at Longhorn and Lonestar and about the only difference I remember is LH does lemon butter on their steaks. TBH I've noticed all Brier Creek restaurants have bad service so I wouldn't necessarily rule out a different location.

Scratch that and reverse it, Longhorn in Garner does appear to be open. Just drove by otw to Party City and there were cars in the parking lot. It appeared open for business but I didn't catch a "Now open" sign.

Had a steak there the other day. It was heavily salted/peppered. Not a huge fan of that. Otherwise the food was good. Didn't seem much better than other decent chain steakhouses.

Have a few beers the wait is more tolerable that way.

I've only been to Brier Creek a handful of times so I'm no expert. I feel claustrophobic there. Idk exactly why, something about the layout. Feels cramped for no reason. I don't mind density but the maze aspect turns me off.

I'm a former server so I'm totally with you on the drinking while you wait. Makes things better for establishment and patron. There's a reason I always requested the smoking section for my tables back in the day. Never was a smoker myself but I'm a hustler and learned real quick where the best $$$$ and more relaxed customers used to sit.

Yeah I'm not crazy about the layout but the food isn't bad. Since they don't have my beer on tap we don't go there much anyway.
