I did a search, but did not come up with much.

I need a recommendation in the Raleigh/Wake Forest area for good seafood restaurant. I would like one on the more fancy side, not too too fancy, but nice. A place to go for a nice Birthday dinner.

On a side note, what is the name of the place in Downtown Raleigh across from 518? I love that Italian place, but I recall there was a seafood place across the street...Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've heard good things about 18 Seaboard...but haven't eaten there, myself.

42 St. Street
is always a good time

ooops...just read you were looking more North...but hopefully those still help.

42nd Street is the seafood place near 518 West.

North Seafood Bistro has a nice menu and I've heard some very good things about it. It is located on Durant Rd. near Falls River.

Across from 518 is Prime only - it has Steak and seafood although I haven't tried it yet . I did go to Bonefish last night ( not been for a while) and that was good - nice atmosphere food was good , place was hopping ( 1 hour wait for a table on Wednesday at 7 p.m.)

Bonefish is very good for a chain, and not too pricey. We really enjoy it.

North Seafood Bistro on Durant Road is delish! We enjoyed dinner there right before Christmas and enjoyed the tuna steak, fish tacos and the coconut shrimp. I can't wait to go back.

Also, Blue Fins in Wake Forest (at the Harris Teeter shopping center in Heritage) always gets rave reviews. We haven't been, but Cox from the N&O (reviewer) seems to have liked it.

I would highly recommend Margaux's off Creedmoor Rd near I-540.
