Hey all! So we just relocated from PA to Cary, NC. We are currently living in an apartment and will soon be looking for a house. (Thank God, I hate apartments) I work in west Raleigh just on the border of Cary, around Hillsborough street. We have liked at houses in Holly springs, fuquay, Garner, and Clayton. We really like the area around south east Garner and Clayton. We love the pace, which is more relaxed than where we are now. But there is still did to do and go to with in 20-30 minutes. Now since moving I've learned that traffic where I am now can change literally in minutes and a normal 20 minutes can become 30 very fast. I don't have any knowledge of what it's like to drive from Clayton to the area I work. I'm just checking to see if anyone on here does that commute and what their thoughts are. Thanks in advance.

I live in Clayton and work in Durham. The commute is crazy, but I love Clayton and wouldn't have it any other way. In fact, when I can get a job in Clayton, I'll switch.

With no traffic getting to Hillsborough St is really not that far away, sometimes it takes only 20 minutes. With traffic it can sometimes take up to 40 minutes.

Clayton has done a good job with controlled growth. Check out the Neuse River Greenway if you like walking or biking. You can take a bike from Clayton all the way to Fall's Lake. The city is currently bringing the greenway into downtown which will be really nice. The first step is to bring it to Legend Park.
