Best to go with at least 4 people....get two combos, everyone shares family style. Don't wear your nicest clothes
I thought I was hot-ish taking a girl to the Mayflower for a first date when I was in High School. We both ended up with severe stomach cramps and other issues the next day. Never again. (no there was no second date but we remained friends for a while)
Not the triangle but not that far from it. Joe's Crab Shack in Fayetteville.
It's a little pricey but I have never had a bad meal there!
Have to agree with M378 here. To each his (or her) own... but I can't imagine that there isn't something far better (and possibly less expensive) than Joe's Crab Shack.
Then again, having spent most of my life in the Hampton Roads area... eating at Joe's Crab Shack to me is just silly. It would have been like going to NYC and picking up an authentic New York slice at Sbarro.
Here in the Triad, we found a pretty decent place called Full Moon. Service is spotty, but the food is on point every time. OK, so they're somewhat of a chain as well... but it's not like they have dozens of locations around the country (they have about 5-6 all in the Carolinas).
So while I know the Triangle isn't exactly OBX or VB, I'd encourage you to mix it up a bit. Try something a little more local. You can save time AND get new experiences.
Wow, tastes are certainly an individual thing, for sure. I don't know that I'd walk across the street to one, if I was hungry and my fridge was empty. And I love a good burger.
