I'm having a hell of a time trying to find a unique apartment in a cool neighborhood. I realize that the triangle's growth is newer and most of the housing is suburban, but I've lived here long enough to know there are some semi-walkable neighborhoods here. I've been looking at craigslist for a while now and I'm having trouble finding anything that isn't a part of some giant complex.
I work in RTP and my price range is up to $1000. I'm focusing on Raleigh and Durham but I'm open to other suggestions.
I absolutely love Cameron Village, which is a planned community and right outside of Downtown. I can walk to everything, including the grocery store. It's slim pickings for urban neighborhoods in Raleigh.
Trinity Heights, Old West Durham, or Walltown, in Durham.
Best to come by and drive around looking for the for rent signs. Many apartments here are private owners.
