Anyone have a suggestion of a great wine bar or restaurant with a great wine list. I'd like something near north hills if possible as I'm meeting a friend and that's midway between us.

Not near North Hills, but Angus Barn has a very impressive wine list, and a well trained staff of sommeliers.

I second Vivace. Also, Maragaux's has a great wine list. It's off Creedmoor Road. Tazza Kitchen in Cameron Village is another favorite.

For me nothing comes close to Angus Barn. The most extensive list in the Triangle. They also have BYO with a modest cork fee.

It would be interesting to know who has the largest or best "by the glass" list. I can't remember the last time I ordered a whole bottle somewhere.

We never get the bottle either. One glass of house will tide me over

I suggest Vivace too.

I agree that would be good information. You know though that you can order a bottle and take home what you don't drink. It's usually the most cost effective way to drink wine.
