I did read the thread from this spring regarding the Ritz, but am wondering how it would be for two teen girls?
DD wants to go Friday night. She's 15. I read that it is a standing venue and there is alcohol, which makes me think it could be more like a nightclub. I dont like the idea of her surrounded by drunks, but am unsure if that is what this place is like. I can't take her as I have a young one and DH works nights, plus I also don't enjoy being around drunks.
Is the atmosphere more geared towards adults? I would have to drop them off (two teen girls), hang out somewhere with the little dude for a couple hours, then go back and pick them up.
Bad idea??

I think it kind of depends on the show and the crowd it attracts. It would probably be better for an adult to go too. I wouldn't worry too much about drunks. The beer is expensive :-)

I wouldn't feel comfortable with that. It's definitely a club vibe. I'm assuming the G-105 event would be one of the better ones, but I'd say 15 is too young for that.

Thanks. I am feeling it sounds like a club and it makes me uncomfortable. She's telling me I'm too "mommish"

I wouldn't call it a club so much as a concert venue. It is more like a warehouse with a stage.

Would they even allow someone under 21 in there, with or without adult company?

No. I would not let my 15yo go there.

And, I used to go there pretty often.

I could tell you stories.

I would TAKE my 15YO there in a heartbeat (depending on the show and the crowd it attracts, of course), but to drop her off depends on a lot of things. I'd probably err on the side of not, but if your daughter and her friend are mature, if the show is "family friendly", and if you're able to drop off and pick up, and if you're comfortable that your kids know how to act in a place like that, I wouldn't rule it out.

When i was 13 and up, I used to get dropped off at shows with friends. OK, wait. Thinking back on how I acted, and what I did at those shows. No way! ;-)
