I agree with many, I'm in and out of a grocery store in 15-20 minutes, I can't imagine spending so much time in a grocery store, shopping/eating, etc...for me it's a waste of time I make my list, head into the store, boom done, leave. lol
I'm not into prepared foods in a grocery store, either. If you're not, that likely adds to the quick in and out.

You guys/gals are forgetting that some Wegmans have pubs. Depending on the brews they serve you now have reason to stay a bit longer. And then go on a drunken spending spree

I have a love/hate relationship with Wegmans. First few times I was excited, but I didn't always like the things I bought in the store once I got them home. Things like poppyseed rolls, limeade were a disappointment. I guess I'd shop there if one opened in the Triangle.

There's only 8 out of the current 88 stores that have The Pub by Wegmans, one in NY, six in PA and one in VA. Not sure if either/both of the two new Richmond stores will get one. I would guess the odds the new Cary store gets a pub to be not that high, but you never know!

I love beer, but honestly, there are so many pubs, breweries and bottle shops in the area they'd have some pretty stiff competition. Though maybe in that location it won't be too bad and there's bound to be some apartments or condos in that development. Can you imagine popping into the grocery store for a couple when you get home from work?

Nope. It was more in jest. I do not drink and drive at all so I wouldn't even grab one if I were there for other reasons. And, unfortunately, most micro brews have headed to the higher alcohol content that I don't like. Above 5% ruins the taste for me.

It's been decades since I went food shopping in Wegmans so i was googling around to see how their grocery prices were. I find these links which may be of some interest.

So, I Just Went to Wegmans for the Very First Time.

They certainly have plenty of premium priced products, but they are generally very competitive on basic staples.
