Bravo on you for having tried something and then realizing what you really want. No shame in that at all. Now you can go back being confident in what you want. Now you know. If you never tried, you would have always wondered.
Mcginty74, congrats and I was going to post a question on the other thread before it got closed. I don't know if you already mentioned this in your previous threads, if you did, I must have missed it, I'm sorry, but what was your business that you started in Cambridge?
If you can mention it, I'm not sure if you patent the idea/concept already or if it might be still confidential. I was just curious because I think you mentioned on how your business concept would not work in either Austin or the Triangle. Is it very unique to Boston (Cambridge) and Bostonians?
I think you're making the right choice. You should definitely go wherever your heart is. Good luck OP, and never forget the things that make you happy!
Good to hear that this forum was helpful for you. I've gotta say that, while most threads can get derailed pretty easily on here, the ones you started pretty much stayed on track and posters seemed very interested in your ultimate happiness and were honest and sincere in their opinions. That was really nice to see. Good luck!

Good for you and best wishes going forward.
And this is also why we instruct people to rent when moving to a new area so they can get the lay of the land, decide if the area works for them. Because OP rented, all she has to do is pick up and leave, not worry about being chained to a house that needs to be sold.

The city is not for everybody but some love it. I understand exactly what you mean, being raised in Pittsburgh. But as I've got older, I rather like the suburbs and a smaller town. It's relaxing.
Yeah, one gives up some stuff, but gains other stuff.
In the end, you do what makes you happiest. For you, it's the city. Good luck.
