Will be in town for a few days in the Apex/Cary area, would like recommendations for restaurants in general but specifically seafood places (for dinner), breakfast places with buffet, etc. Doesn't have to be limited to those city limits if worth driving a few more mins to get to. thx!

There is a wonderful Italian family owed place next to the Food Lion (Momma Mia Italian Bistro). The Apex Peakway goes right behind it close to the town hall. They have a lunch or diner buffet. Seafood wise get a cod fish sandwich at Skippers on Hwy 55 just off US1. Great lobster bisque also.
Yes, Skippers in Apex for seafood; great value for price paid.
Skippers for good, but CHEAP and FRIED Seafood. If you're looking for a "dining experience" type seafood, try Dean's Seafood on Cary Pkwy at James Jackson. There's also Tony's Oyster Bar at MacGregor village, but I think the food there is only so-so.
I agree, Bosphorus is wonderful (not what you asked for, but dang good).
For something a little different, try Golden Pig Korean Food. Yum!
Best Italian (since it was mentioned) is Bocci on Kildaire (IMO). I also had good meals at Paisan's and Lugano (which is right next to Dean's).
Not much going on in Apex, but drive down the road to Holly Springs to the Mason Jar Tavern for something different (voted best new restaurant). Also, The Little Hen, if you want something a little more fancy.
Lots of good breakfast options, not sure about buffets though. Maybe on Sundays. Unless you want Golden Corral. I would skip the buffet and do breakfast at La Farm. Every day.
I probably shouldn't give away our secret, but Doherty's Irish Pub in both the Cary and Apex locations have a Sunday Brunch that is to die for. They start at 9am and then have the Mimosa bar ready to serve at Noon (Damn NC Blue laws). The Apex location is almost empty for the first hour or two. Same prices as IHop, without the wait and the food is 20x's better.

I never understand why people are lining up out the door at Briggs but Doherty's is pretty much empty on Sunday mornings.
