I will be in Chapel Hill later today and I'm looking for lunch spot suggestions. Nothing too pricey. Having great salad options is a plus. Also, where some good places to go for a 2 mile walk? Greenway or waking path would be ideal. Thanks!

(Recommendations for nearby Carrboro are fine too)

Mediterranean Deli and Al's Burger Shack are my favorites in Chapel Hill!

The Bolin Creek Greenway is a good place for a walk. Town of Chapel Hill, NC : Bolin Creek Trail

Ooh yes, or maybe lunch at Southern Season, and walk the trail to Caffe Driade?

Al's is my favorite too but they aren't exactly known for their salad's haha.

I'm not much of a salad person and don't think I've ever actually ordered a salad for a meal; but some good lunch places that I would assume have good salads as well would be Sandwich (yes, that's the name of the restaurant, really good but not cheap), Med Deli, Elmos (in Carrboro, they also have brunch/breakfast all day if you like that), Suttons (known more for Chapel Hill/UNC nostalgia than the food itself; they do have good sandwiches though).

Bollin Creek trail is nice but honestly my favorite walking spot after lunch on Franklin Street is a stroll through campus. Both quads (McCorkle and Polk place on a map) are beautiful this time of year and the students are off for good Friday so it will be pretty quiet!

A walk down Franklin, through north campus to the bell tower/kenan stadium and back would put you somewhere between 1-2 miles.

In Carrboro Spotted Dog has great salads with lots of vegan options if you're into soy bacon and stuff like that. At Weaver Street they have a big salad bar and you can make your own and sit outside on the lawn and eat. Elmo's does a decent salad, too, a little heavy on the romaine, but good. Venable is another great spot in the same area. I can't say I've had their salads, though, but I would think they'd do a good job. I'd check out Acme in Carrboro, too.

Med Deli is a good option for veg friendly food too. I think Carolina Brewery does a good salad, been awhile since I've ordered one there, but I think the better half has. Sutton's is great and definitely not a salad place. Good burgers and BLTs, though. The Root Cellar has a variety of salads that are pre-made that they will dish up for you. It's a fun place. Also close to the Bolin Creek Greenway if you want to walk along there. We like to get salads from The Loop, too, but that's just a nice little chain in a strip mall so I couldn't really recommend that although they are good.

I like TarHeelNick's suggestion of walking on campus. If you do that check out the Arboretum behind the Morehead Planetarium and the Episcopal church. It's lovely right now with many things in bloom.

Alternately you might like to go walking at the NC Botanical Garden off 54. They have extensive walking trails back there that go through the woods in a lovely setting.
