We go to Raleigh Grande theater for the same seats and tables and movies for about half the price of CineBistro. Admittedly, it's a smaller menu, but we really don't go to the movies to eat. We go out to eat AFTER the movie and (gasp) talk about the movie we just watched.

Twice a week.
No comparison in the food department. And there's only a $3 difference in ticket price. (and IIRC, no wine or mixed drinks at RG ... I don't drink beer)
I can't remember if RG has an age restriction in the evenings. That's a MASSIVE plus for me.
Is all ordering done before the movie starts at Cinebistro? One of the things I like about Alamo Drafthouse is that you can order at any time, so you can eat your meal and then halfway through the movie order some warm cookies for dessert.

It's all done before the movie, yes. Ordering closes when showtime starts. And you pay right when you order as well. I personally do not like services like the one you described.

Yes, RG has wine and beer. No mixed cocktails. Wine prices $18-$20/bottle. CineBistro - $30-$100 (!!!) a bottle.
CineBistro prices are $12 for matinee. RG is $7.50 Mon-Fri, $8.00 weekends.
$29 in CB for a filet? For that price, I can go to some pretty nice places instead of eating on a fold out table. (But as I said, we rarely eat at the theater).
I agree that the no kid policy is pretty cool. And I do wish RG had done a better job soundproofing when they did the remodel.
CB has it's place, for sure. But we also support RG because they ALWAYS bring in the indie movies, even before the remodel. That alone is the main reason we patronize them, even for the big ticket releases. AND the seats. I LOVE the seats.

Okay, thanks. Before I'd experienced Alamo, I thought it might be disruptive, but I didn't find it to be so. The only times I even noticed the servers' presence were very briefly when they were dropping off my food during the movie and the bill near the end.

I went to Studio Movie Grill, which is a similar concept. I didn't mind the servers showing up during the movie, but when I went, the server came around a few times checking to see if I was ready to pay yet. I wanted to wait until the movie was over. That was distracting.
The Cobb in Cary is just a CineBistro. At the one I frequented in Tampa, it was also a full service movie theater. It was nice to have that option. The CineBistro was above the regular seating, like on a balcony.

As mentioned the ordering is done ahead of time, however you can exit the theater and there is a counter like right there where you can order anything you want.
1) At CineBistro, if everyone is ordering, paid, and finished eating before the movie starts, what is everyone doing during the meal? Is something being shown on screen? Isn't it better to just go to a restaurant and eat before heading to the movies? Since it doesn't seem like people are eating during the movie anyways. Not trying to bat down CineBistro, just trying to understand what the draw is.
2) Raleigh Grande is the one on Lynn/Glenwood across from Target and Lowes? When did they start serving good? I thought they were a traditional movie theater. Granted, last time I went was maybe a few years ago.
You're done ordering and the food is there, but unless you order just an appetizer and wolf it down you'll be eating during the movie. When we were there, it would have been a real struggle to not be eating still.
