Hi! - We put an offer in on a house today located in Neuse Crossings subdivision. I have been on a well/septic out here in Clayton so not used to paying for either service. What might we be looking at for a water/sewer bill in Raleigh?. There are just 2 adults and we will each take at least 1 shower a day, dishwasher run once a week and laundry several loads maybe 1-2 days a week (we have new high efficiency washer). The dishwasher in the house is brand new as well. And...on a side note...anyone know much about this subdivision?. We drove around and it seems well maintained and we like the fact it is established with mature trees (and lots of them). Thanks in advance for any input!!

Congratulations on the offer on the house. Surely someone on this forum can give you an estimated water/sewer bill. Your buyer's agent ought to be able to tell you which government provides the water and sewer. You certainly could have asked the current owner to provide utility bills.

I understand Neuse Crossing is the general area of Rolesville in Wake County. The billing information may be found here at the Raleigh City site:

Our water/sewer/wastewater/trash/recycling bill runs around $80 per month during the winter and closer to $100 during the summer due to our garden. There are just two of us living in the house, each taking one shower a day, dishwasher run once a week and maybe 3-4 loads of laundry a week.

Is your house inside or outside the city limits? I think Neuse Crossing is outside? If so, a water/sewer bill for 3,000 gallons per month (which isn't a lot, but should be close for 2 people) will be around $90 per month. Inside would be around $50/month. Trash and recycling charges are about $15/month.

Interesting. My wife & I live in Raleigh City limits. Our bill (water+sewer+trash+recycling+stormwater fee) ranges between $50 and $65 a month. We don't water our lawn.

For our family of 3, it is usually $50-$75 inside city limits.

I've always thought my water bill was a bit high at an average of $60 a month, but based on these responses, perhaps not. I'm single, live in a 1700 sq. ft townhome in north Raleigh, shower once a day, run the dishwasher nearly every day (I cook a lot), and do 3-4 loads of laundry a week. I do water my outdoor plants, but not the entire yard.

For folks moving from other parts of the county, the water/sewer bills of about $30 a month for a small family that showers once a day and does not water the lawn seem like a shocker.
OP - the water/sewer bill also includes trash services.
