So my contract with Sprint is almost up (In March) I wanted to see if any of my neighbors could make and recommendations on carrier (Verizon, AT&T or Alltel).

I live in the Cary Park, Amberly, Weldon Ridge area. My sprint service is horrible in our home. Constantly breaking up and dropping calls. I am so ready to make a switch

Thanks for any help in advanced!

We live in that area and have AT&T, no problems with service.

AT&T works great for me in the same area, all the way through RTP.

Roughly where in this area are you guys living because the ATT Wireless Coverage map is showing

MODERATE: The areas shown in the light orange should have sufficient signal strength for on-street or in-the-open coverage, but may not have it for in-vehicle coverage or in-building coverage.

Not sure how accurate or old it is. Just worried about getting another carrier that has choppy service, especially in my house

I live in Amberly and use Verizon. Great reception even inside the house. Do not get a good signal while playing basketball indoors at the amenities center (must be the metal roof). There are some dead spots along O'Kelly chapel rd headed to Durham/Southpoint just past Hills of Rosemont. We had cingular when we first moved and reception was terrible (prior to Cingular/ATT merger).

I also have Verizon and have pretty good coverage in that entire area. The pp is right -- there is one area by Rosemont (on O'Kelly Chapel) where my calls used to get dropped, although lately not so much.

Overall, I've been pleased. My mother, who has Alltel has horrible reception in the same area.

I would agree that Verizon is pretty good in that area and usually doesn't drop except in a couple places. And that they're a little better than Cingular. There aren't as many houses out that way so the signal does drop a little further between towers.

But alltel does the best in my comparison. They've always got the stronger signal when I'm at the Harris Teeter, or connecting on O'Kelly Chapel between Hwy 55 and 751. I don't drop anywhere through the area with them. According to an FCC tower search at cellreception.com near O'Kelly Chapel Rd, the tower near Lassiter Homestead Rd. off of 751, and before Kit Creek Rd. on 55 are both alltel owned and are the 2 closest towers, so they should, and do in my experience, have the strongest signal in that area.

Thumbs up Alltel: Come and get your love!!!!

Just wanted to update. I fired sprint and hired Alltel. Works good at my house and works very good outside. I've been using Alltel for a few weeks now and have to say its significantly better then Sprint around town and in the area I live.
