Shouldn't every place? I would think Raleigh will be among the first in the southeast area of the country.

A county owned water park such as the following...

Nothing special. Just some slides, tipping buckets, and a lazy river.

Raleigh has one of those at Buffaloe Road...

What we don't have are outdoor ones on that scale.

Are you from the Brooklyn area? Mom loves the egg creams but a lot of people don't even know what they are anymore. Malteds too (my favorite).

I just love being able to see mountains. Has a calming affect on me.

I lived in Queens, Dix Hills and Deer Park as well as other places in NY. The queens/LI stint being 18 years.
I last had an egg cream in Bayside (not far from the White Castles on Bell Blvd) but the luncheonettes in Deer Park made them as well.

I have said for a long time, I think casino(s) would make a killing if located at the intersection of I-40 & I-95. You get the people going to/from the beach, to/from the Northeast and Florida, and as well as locals from Raleigh, Fayetteville, etc.

Troika music festival in Durham (I miss this one a lot)
A high-speed rail to Asheville and Wilmington (and DC while we are at it)
(or, as an impossible alternative, get rid of large chunks of stuff between here and the mountains/coast such that we were an hour away from each)
Great Lexington-style BBQ joint
Great Eastern-style BBQ joint
(Seriously...how can we have such great Q an hour or so from the edges of the Triangle and have such mediocre offerings here?)
IKEA
a Wicked Weed taproom in the area
get some of the greenway projects near me accelerated and completed (connect White Oak to ATT and Bond Park, and the whole Lake Crabtree to ATT route that parallels Aviation/Morrisville-Carpenter/CFS roads).

I had a business account with them years ago when I was a pc repair tech, and a personal account, and their products/customer service were abysmal on both counts. I don't know if they ran a retail outlet any better but I don't trust them at all. New Egg gets my online business now.
Tiger Direct had a retail location on Capital just before you reach 440. They were GREAT. Cheap. I used to walk out of Best Buy all the time and go straight to TD for whatever I was looking for which was usually at least 40% less. They also had a huge selection... Kind of resembled a flea market but man.. hard drives, motherboards, keyboards, HDD enclosures, RAM sticks, etc. I miss them

The one up here by me started selling shakes in the past couple of years, they are my go-to burger place. I used to get sick to my stomach from every other burger joint. Not Five Guys. I don't know if it's their ingredients or what, but I'm a big fan.
I used to work in North Hills and gave Five Guys several chances. The burgers were good but never memorable (really hate grease soaked buns) and their fries are really not my thing.. too potatoey but the malt vinegar was a plus.... What I hate about them is that roughly 20 minutes after finishing you are hit with the biggest gut bomb that promises your production level for the rest of the day will be for shi**. Severe fatigue sets in..... must....have....nap.... Yea, I hated that feeling. Had to cut a social event short once because I just wanted to go to straight to bed. CharGrill has a MUCH better flame broiled flavor in their beef IMO and no soggy, wet, bottom bun. gross. I just don't get the following of this national chain at all

Have you ever asked for one down there? I get the strangest looks, because if you don't know what it is, the name prompts a kind of gross image doesn't it? Egg and cream in a drink?

Ahh but are any of those things you got from TD still working?

I ordered 5 laptops from them once under my business account (which you would think would be better). Two of them arrived DOA, one didn't have an operating system, and the other two had the wrong operating system. Once you have a problem with an order you've already paid for, they were awful about actually being helpful. That was just one of many battles I had with them about their products. I just gave up.

That stomach upset is exactly what I was talking about getting with other places. I know McDonald's doesn't compare but that was the first place I noticed it. From 5 Guys, I usually just get a little cheeseburger with A1 and pickles. Little fries, which I never finish. Chocolate shake with extra chocolate and extra malt.
