So Asia, and China in particular make notoriously inferior products when most products sold in the US are from overseas...? To my understading the quality of Asian products have dramatically increased in the past 30 years.

Face it. The statement was juvenile and uncalled for.

False. Any manufacturer anywhere can make high-quality product, and any manufacturer anywhere in the world can make low-quality product. It all depends on what cost point the manufacturer is trying to achieve and what specifications were written by the buyer.

I remember cars from Detroit in the 1970s... total junk. Even Mercedes Benz had quality problems in the 1990s.

Chinese products have improved their quality over the years. That is true. They still churn out a lot of junk too. If you buy 100 things from China and 100 things from the us, the Chinese ones will be inferior quality in most cases. It's all numbers. Some things they make will be great, some will be okay, and some will be terrible. Same for the US, but the quality products will be a higher percentage. Sorry you are offended about a comment someone else made, but you can't argue with numbers.
