I just drove through Park West Village and noticed new signage for a Zales going in between where the Soma is and White House Black Market, over by the District area (apartments over retail section). Looks like they were hard at work doing construction inside too. It like a mass exodus out of Cary Towne lately.
In other news, Fleet Feet moved from their location beside Rise in Park West to the District area, next door to the Blackfinn Ameripub. I can imagine Park West is going to get even more retail out of Cary Towne soon what with the District area construction done. I know they have said in the past that section of Park West will be more geared to fashion/lifestyle retail. There's some retail in Cary Towne that could definitely fit the bill there.
Additional retail coming to the District are stores Cute Buttons and Pink Magnolia. Both will be on the same side of the District as Fleet Feet in the same area as Fleet Feet. There are two additional leases pending for the District, but they are currently unnamed on the same side as Fleet Feet. Most of the new leases are going in the apartment building that has Fleet Feet due to it probably being easier to fill the smaller square footage units. The build that has LOFT in it has 3 vacant unleased spaces, but those spaces are larger (roughly 3-5k sq ft each).
There is also a lease pending for the old Lime Fresh space.
TLDR ~ Ton of retail heading for Park West's District area soon.
One more blurb, but I believe CASTO (the parent / managing company of Park West Village) is now in control of all that property between the Earth Fare and the Sheets under construction, fronting Morrisville Parkway. Additionally I believe they are in control of the now vacated XPEDX site as well. Wake IMAPS and CASTO's site/leasing plans seem to confirm this.
They have quite a bit of room to expand once they fill up those apartment retail spaces. Not to mention on their phasing plan there is still another building they want to construct on the "Ross Dress for Less" side of the parking deck.
Not to mention if they really, really wanted to get creative, they could probably start doing infill of some of those parking lots scattered through the center with more parking decks and retail below.
Hot spot there for sure in the area. Like in another thread CTC is dying out and needs a new outlook. These places leaving there will thrive in a Park West setting for sure.
They are going to be building another apartment complex on some of that extra land.
Yep! It's going to be called The Station and located between the vacated XPEDX site and The Bristol. Here's the site plan, where XPEDX would be at the top of this image, The Bristol below, and the Sheetz is in the upper right corner:

Maybe it's just me, but I'm conditioned that if I need to park in a parking deck its an extra level of hassle when going to a shopping center. That may curb my trips to Park West, even though my son loves Bad Daddy's.
The advantage of a parking deck is your car is in the shade! Great for the summer.
