We're on a private well, and have an old filtration system with a salt based water softener and sediment prefilter that is at the end of its lifespan. Our main issues are sediment, moderate hardness and iron. I'd like to move away from a salt based water softener (which uses tons of water), and am interested in hearing what other folks are using that has worked well for them, and also get recommendations on local companies for installation.
We are considering The Water Specialist in Hillsborough and Purologix in Raleigh, if anyone has used either, and would like to hear who else folks have liked.
