My wife and I are looking to replace the countertop in the kitchen for a home we just purchased. It is not a big area by any means. We went to a place in Raleigh which had the cheapest granite for $43/square foot; the size of our kitchen was quoted about $2400 total. Not a bad price by any means but we would like a few more quotes. Our home is a starter home so we are not looking to spend a fortune on the granite countertops. If anyone has any good, reasonably priced granite countertop places in the Raleigh/Wake Forest area please advise.
Just prior to selling our last home, we put granite in our master bath. 2 large areas. Great price. Perfect installation. We used City Rock in Brier Creek.
I went with the location on Glenwood. Konstantin is the owner. 919-800-8886 is his cell
I just had granite done three months ago. I shopped around to over 10 places. Nobody was able to touch Konstantin's prices and not just by a $1 or $2 per sq ft. It was a significant difference. I got a level 4 for a level 1-2 price that other people wanted to charge. His customer service was Amazing. I also compared to City Rock and the price difference was insane. This is for the same exact slab I picked out at Cosmos in SE Raleigh. My granite is beautiful, and he had no issues getting it put down with a custom farmhouse sink I ordered. For a level 1 he will easily beat $43 sq ft guaranteed.

I've seen several examples of their work and it's perfect.

Don't even consider it unless you like sub quslity work and endless hassles. High quality Fabrication of granite is more of an art - you don't want second rate (unless you don't care what it looks like).
I have put granite in over 15 rental properties. If you are paying more than $30/sq foot, you are paying too much. Email me if you want a couple of top notch installer recs for under $30/sq foot.
We did a lot of research before buying ours, and found that Natural Gallery was by far the least expensive. They have a warehouse on Wicker Drive, so we went over and found a piece we liked. Very happy with their service.
