My father is thinking about moving here from out of state (CA) so that he can live closer to us. We live in Holly Springs. He isn't the type to need anything fancy, just wants to rent a basic 1 bedroom apt. He doesn't want to spend a lot so that he can travel. I'm thinking Cary, Apex or Holly Springs (which is limited) but not some huge complex with a bunch of young people playing loud music or messing with your car. A town home with a garage might be nice too. i'm not even sure what the going rate is, I would appreciate any ideas you might have.

I've been looking at Apartmentguide.com and the lowest going rates are $650-700 for one bedroom. One cheaper one is on East Ransom St in Fuquay-Varina. That includes water, sewer, and trash, plus it has a washer and dryer in the kitchen. Would the location be OK with you? It would probably be gone by the time you father makes up his mind.

I think a townhouse with a garage would cost a lot more. Most apartments have open parking.

Thanks...I'd rather see him go north than south of Holly Springs. Does anyone know about all units near Kildaire and Cary Parkway? I think he might like a more established area like that.

Have you checked into senior apts? Evergreen construction has built some nice ones in the area. We looked into them for my dad but he is not ready to move yet.
