I need to take a dessert to a fairly casual dinner party tonight (I'm not in the mood to bake). I'm in Cary. Anyone have anything from a bakery or grocery store that they've really enjoyed? I checked Fresh Market, but I didn't see anything. Thanks.

blue moon has some nice desserts. I prefer the mad hatter in durham, but blue moon is very good as well. I do like the desserts at panera as well.

I second Blue Moon in Cary. Or tiramisu at Whole Foods. Or a cake from the Dairy Queen and Grill. Or a cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory.

Definitely Blue Moon. I'm surprised you haven't heard of them if you're in Cary. I always get my birthday cakes from them. I'm out in Clayton and it is worth the trip.

I suppose this is a fourth vote for Blue Moon Bakery in Cary. We got our Wedding Cake there in 2002 and have gotten every birthday, anniversary, baby shower, and random occasion cake from there since then. They have a bunch of cakes in the cooler for walk-ins, so you don't absolutely have to order in advance. They also have lots of other bakery items, the selection varies day to day but I've never had anything I didn't love. Cupcakes might be fun for a small dinner party.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I really appreciate it. I ended up taking a cake from Blue Moon. It was a party in North Raleigh and most of the people had heard of Blue Moon but never been, so it was nice for them to be able to try it. It went over very well.
