It isn't old, but they should have built it in downtown Raleigh to begin with. I realize that NC State didn't want that, plus the cost of land where it is located today, is a heck of a lot cheaper than the land it would have cost to build it in DT Raleigh. Too bad that couldn't just get a bunch of military helicopters and relocate it downtown!

If the RBC was downtown I doubt I would go watch the Canes much at all. I hate going downtown and avoid it every time I can. It takes forever to get anywhere...at least for me lol.
That said....if so many think the RBC is so bad then why not make it better where it is. The canes want a practice facility, so why not build one and expand the RBC at the same time and make it more of a multiplex that can also host soccer or other sports/events that require a bit bigger facility and will draw in more people? It will take away parking but can't the parking always be turned into multi-level?

I do not want to see Carolina Hurricanes fans go through what the Atlanta Thrashers fans went through.

The market is financially better than several Canadian markets.

I agree wholeheartedly. I hope new local ownership can achieve that result. Peter Karmano$$$, Jr. has outlived his ownership.

Wanna keep the Canes?
Buy tickets. Season tickets.
And, buy a bite to eat at the game. And a ball cap.

I was looking for the fan shop at PNC Arena. Where is it located?

The problem is that no one appears to be stepping up to buy the team and certainly no one local. I thought an interesting fact in the N&O article was the 250k donated by the Hurricanes to a charity golf tourney run by Mrs. Karmanos. The Canes invest a fraction of that in local youth hockey. If they were serious about growing their fan base they'd have some different financial priorities and investment in our local community.

The Eye is right beside the South Entrance. Easy in and out.
And, 30% off men's outerwear through 6/18:

That N&O article is too long to read. Can someone highlight why the sons are suing their father?
