I'd suggest Jiffy Lube on Franklin Street for a student on a budget.

I kept FL plates on my car for five years before finally succumbing to NC...yes I know it sucks. No inspections were nice as well!

But keep in mind when you go to FL from out of state you also have to register your car there, and the costs are fairly similar IIRC.

Actually, it costs less to keep my car registered in NC than it did in FL after the initial registration fee, part of the reason I switched. FL for my car doubled over the timespan of just a few years.

If you're a student here why are you registering your car here? Just keep a FL license, address, and registration.

Well I'm actually planning to live here permanently and therefore establish residency for school so anything that'll help. Lol

See if you can find a place that JUST does inspections and not repairs - that way there's no incentive for your car to fail.
