Hello! It's that time again and the wife and I are ready to actually move and OWN a house this time.
Currently, our sites are set on this lovely house in northeast Raleigh, and we're not as familiar with this area. Driving around there, we couldn't really tell what kind of a place it was.
So I was wondering if anyone could let us know what the 27616 area is like, specifically the Winter Park subdivision.
We've done as much research as we could on our own and now we'd like to pick at the minds of the locals!
I'm not familiar with the Winter Park subdivision but North East Raleigh is generally fairly nice. There are a few pockets of less-nice but as a whole it's great. I do know 27614 and 27615 are great with solid schools. Hopefully someone who lives in 27616 can chime in...
I don't know much about 27616 but it appears to stradle US 1/401 and I would never live in an area that would require me to use those two roads on a daily basis.
Better to be more specific than a zip code, as sociodemographics have a pesky way of not paying attention to zip codes.
East Raleigh near (and especially east of) Capital Blvd is "sketchy" in many areas. What major street names are near the area you're looking at?
If you really want to search by zip code, City-Data does have pages for every Zip Code--here is the one for 27616.
Just stay away from the Mini City area through Buffalo Rd for housing and you'll be fine. South part of 27616, i.e. Capital Blvd is not known for being new and sparkling. Perry Point apts near 540 are great, but living more north in a single family dwelling bordering WF or Rolesville is cheap because it's rural.
Thread is more than 2 years old. What's up with bumping old 27616 threads?
